Gambit Awarded ‘Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year’ and ‘Deal of the Year’ at the 2018 Insider Wales Dealmakers Awards

2018 is the third consecutive year in which the firm has won the ‘Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year’ award, after completing a total of 10 deals in the year to 30 June 2018, with a total deal value in excess of £100m.

Notable deals in the period included the MBO of Newport Wafer Fab, the MBO of Computer World and the development capital fundraising by Voltcom.

Gambit is aiming to retain the award for a fourth consecutive year in 2019 and has a strong pipeline and significant transaction success. This includes the completion of a record-breaking three deals in one day in August and the firm acting as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of Orangebox on its £63 million sale to Steelcase Inc in September 2018.

The acquisition of Newport Wafer Fab by Neptune 6 from Infineon Technologies was also recognised as the ‘Deal of the Year’, a deal in which Gambit acted as lead advisor to Neptune 6. Gambit’s role included providing strategic and financial advice to Neptune 6, sourcing funding and leading commercial negotiations.

Geraint Rowe, Partner said “we are extremely proud of the firm’s recognition and success in 2017/18. To be recognised by an industry peer group as the Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year highlights the experience and strength in depth of the firm. Gambit’s expertise, both in domestic and international M&A markets, brings a truly value-add proposition to our clients.”
